Hi, I'm Matteson!
I am a human in her 30's living in New England with two cats and an extended "found family." I still watch cartoons "for kids." I don't read popular novels or watch trending TV shows until years after the hype has worn off. I'm not afraid to dance badly in front of an audience. I am really into yoga.
I grew up in a small, Maine town sustained by tourism. As a teen, I worked in hospitality, serving breakfast and managing the front desk at boutique seaside hotels. I saw a lot of money come into Maine but not necessarily stay. The experience left an impression on me. After nearly a decade in business marketing, I made the life-altering pivot in 2018 to nonprofit service, where I felt I could use my talents to make a difference.
Professionally speaking, I have over ten years of experience as a marketing generalist and five years of in-the-trenches nonprofit fundraising work on my resume. I have a degree in English with a concentration in Creative Writing from the University of Southern Maine.
